Originating from Basicstan, Atlas Bell played in the Basicstan Premier League until the state was annexed by the Legoland Empire on 31st June 2008. As one of the leading club sides from the Empire's new province, the Legoland Football Association granted the franchise a place in the nation's second division for the 2008/09 season.
The place had been freed up as part of the LFA's continued restructuring of the SuperLeague in Autumn 2008 that saw the majority of the remaining Italian-Lego clubs expelled under a process encouraged by the central government called "Legoisation". Telephone company, Telecom Legoland purchased the team in May 2008 after the CEO Timus Divisionus Multiplexus's phone-tapping of government phone lines allowed him to foresee the invasion of Basicstan and extrapolate the likelihood of Atlas Bell's entry into the Legoland league. It was indeed a gamble yet it one that paid off. The club's bid to reach Serie A was spearheaded by Mr Multiplexus's appointed club president Mr Serious Demandus who invested heavily in a promotion push and packed the first team with big names, all secured on loan from clubs around the Panterra continent. The club secured promotion with a 2-0 win over Bari at the San Nicola. Not one of the on loan players, which comprised the entire squad, was purchased following promotion and this renegaded on a gentlefig agreement between Atlas Bell and the loaning clubs which may well lead to most teams refusing to lend players to Atlas Bell in future.
