Founded in 1994 as Inter Milan, Inter ABS were a regular in the Serie A for 8 seasons until 2004 when the club began a period of back-to-back relegations and promotions between the Serie A and Serie B divisions. The yo-yo-ing saw the club incapable of building up an experienced squad and in 2007 the lack of progress led long-term patron Mr Legoda to throw in the towel in frustration. With Mr Legoda and the financial backing he brought with him from car manufacturer Legoda Motors gone to Emperor Eagles, Inter were left in the hands of the relatively poor Massimo Moratti in 2007. Moratti's number one priority was to instill some consistency in Inter's seasonal performances and avoid the drop.
On 6th May 2009, Mr Moratti announced his intention to sell the Black-Blues and slapped a £75m price tag on the team. Explaining his decision, Moratti claimed that he had done all he could in his time at the helm. "I aim to sell this great club to someone who will take it to the next level". To-date no one has relieved Moratti of his asset with most balking at the price-tag.
On 7th February 2010 the club announced an agreement had been reached to merge with Serie B side Inter Legoland. The merger would take place on 2 May 2010, the day after the final day of the 2009/2010 season. On that day the two clubs formally adopted the new name, Inter ABS.
