Legoland FC kit

Established on 1st October 1993 as the foundational league's first registered professional club, LFC quickly became one of the most powerful institutions in Lego society. Consistently leveraging their influence in football's corridors of power LFC have not endeared themselves to the wider football community and although the side are the league's most successful and most supported club, they are also the league's most disliked, being accused by their detractors of everything from unabashed arrogance and gamesfigship to corruption. Full Profile

In the early days of Lego football, LFC picked up a number of titles in some quite dubious circumstances. These included the first ever league title, won after a poorly refereed championship play-off penalty shoot-out following a bizarre 10-10 draw against Old Rule rivals Legoland United.

At the time the Legoland Football Association and organisation president Mr Fifa was accused of favouritism towards the Cartel. This accusation would remain despite the fact that the team slid into an era of severe under-achieving in the mid 1990s. In the 1994/5 season the club avoided relegation following a points accounting error which saw Juventus wrongly relegated in place of the side from the capital. The error only came to light many years later and Mr Fifa and the football authorities blamed the mistake on an Eland accounting firm who they claimed had been procured to compute the final points table. Although an independent probe by the Ministry of Games seemed to collaborate the LFA line, suspicions remained.

Accusations of the LFA's favouritism resufaced in 1997 when the club finished a disastrous 1996/7 season third from bottom. Although under the league rule book the position results in relegation to the second division, the football association re-jigged the format of the top flight expelling foreign club Gardinia East FC from the league and relegating the bottom 3 teams leaving LFC to live another day.

Despite the club's poor domestic form during this period the side retained its huge support particularly among the nation's working class and unemployed minifigs. LFC's powerful influences in the media always placed them top of the sports news, and this remains to this day.

By the late 1990s the years of under achieving finally ended and silverware was brought home with 2 consecutive Serie A titles lifted in 1999 and 2000. LFC went on to finish in either first or second place in 7 of the 9 following seasons. Their most recent Serie A title win, in 2008, was a record fifth crown.

Supporters of the Cartel are infamous for hooliganism. Acts of violence is frequently seen at matches involving the club, especially in derby fixtures against their cross-town adversaries Legoland United. The fans are also known for their racism towards citizens of other nations, in particular Klanders, Elanders, and ND Landers. Numerous domestic and Panterra games involving the club have in the past been abandoned due to crowd trouble and the club has suffered heavy disciplinary fines as a result.
