SuperLeague
Last playing in Legoland in the 2003/04 Serie A under the name Real Madrid, Real Legoland were forced out of the league after the football association's fledging policy of "Legoisation" was first starting to spread its tentacles. With the Serie A expansion and the club's rebranding, the LFA readmitted the team into the SuperLeague and gave the club its top flight status back.
The team had been playing in the ND Land lower leagues since its expulsion and could not believe their luck.
Real Legoland's potential for future success has dramatically increased after the leading television firm in Legoland, NTL, purchased the club on 25th May 2009. Since then the new owners have taken out their cheque book splashing out £62m on players, more than any other club in the entire division.
With the appointment of prestigous coach Manuel Pellegrini and the purchase of big names including Iker Casillas, Guti, Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Real are expected to challenge for a Super 16 place in the next few seasons.
