Despite being the largest and most supported side in the Castleland's Eternal City, once capital of the ancient Lego Roman Empire, the Eternal City have had limited success on the football field down through the years. Playing under the name AS Roma between 1994 and 2010, the club's current position amongst the nation's footballing elite grew out of their single Serie A triumph back in 1997. Since that victory the club have however struggled to meet the high expectations of their large fanbase and have failed to reclaim football's top prize.
The league winning 1996/7 season saw the Magic Wolves pip both Archangel and Ajax Skerries to land the Serie A title with one game left despite a terrible end to the campaign with the team losing their final 3 games. Hopes that the Serie A triumph would herald in an new era of success failed to materialise with the team continuing their poor end to the previous season in the next. The reigning champions finished the 1997/8 season one place above the drop.
Despite high profile signings, the Eternal City's league performances over the following years were nothing to shout about with the club finishing well clear of the title contenders each season. The 2000/1 campaign was however a new low when the side finished 4th from bottom and were relegated. It later emerged that the Eternal City had bribed Boca Libertas to throw a game but despite this it was too little to save the team from Serie B.
The club had to face only one season in Serie B when promotion was achieved in 2002. The team has finished in mid-table mediocrity for most of the subsequent seasons. The 2009/10 season however saw the club claim 3rd place, their highest finish in 13 years and earned the side a place in the lucrative Panterra Super 16.
