Ministry figures confirm Empire is out of recession

news LEGOLAND CITY-Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures issued this evening by the Ministry of Finance's State Economic Bureau have confirmed that the Legoland Empire is now no longer in recession having seen growth of just over 0.6% in the last two quarters.

However, at a press conference, Minister for Finance Godfrey Haylard refused to call an end to the recession, pointing out that much of the rise in GDP was attributed to profits from arms firms who have benefitted greatly from the recent conflict in the troubled Castleland province. Whether Legoland was out of recession or not was "a matter of semantics", Mr Haylard said. Full Story

Central Bank chief hands in resignation

news LEGOLAND CITY-Central Bank of Legoland president Mr Printus Moneyus has resigned from his post after a brief meeting with Emperor David at the CBL headquarters in the Legoland capital today. It is thought that the Emperor, angry at a perceived mismanagement of the economy by the bank. Full Story

Admirable Mr Prints calls for Serie A expansion

news NIRUT-Celebs owner, the admirable Mr Prints, has called on Mr Fifa and the Legoland Football Association to "seriously consider" the recent proposal brought forward by Torino Calcio to expand the Serie A from 22 to 24 teams. Nation's third largest bank collapses

news LEGOLAND CITY-The announcement came directly from VOL PKLM's chief executive Riskyus Gambulus at lunchtime today in a statement hurriedly issued to the press. Legoland's third largest financial institution will cease all operations permanently from 12:00am Friday 27th February with the loss of 35 jobs after the lender posted losses of £194m in its first months of operation. Calls for government to resign as unemployment rockets

news LEGOLAND CITY-Unemployment figures released today have painted a gloomy picture on the jobs front with official statistics confirming that over 1100 minifigs are now out of work. The record number of jobless is overwhelming the nation's social welfare system run by the State Employment Bureau (SEB2) the government was told today at an impromptu meeting called to discuss the Empire's deteriorating finances.
