LFC coach Marco Van Basten looked notably downbeat during this morning's training session at LFC Park.
Latest news emanating from ND Land have suggested the Cartel are in talks with an as yet unnamed minifig about the possibility
of taking up a "soon to be vacant" employment position.

Once again a penalty shoot-out has determined Legoland FC's fate in a cup competition this season and, if reports are to be believed, the fate of coach Marco Van Basten. Should Van Basten be shown the door, the nation's most successful club will have parted company with their third manager in under two months and will play out the remainder of the season with the retention of their Serie A crown being the sole hope for some silverware.
December's penalty defeat to Legoland United in the Derby Cup final came after a scoreless 90 minutes and fans of the Cartel were forgiven for experiencing a sense of déjà vu tonight as events were repeated at the Partizan. The only notable differences this time was the vanquishers would be lowly Serie B side Ice Planet Invaders, whom many consider "losers", and the competition, the LFA Cup.
Reacting to the upset coach Marco Van Basten blamed it on a lack of luck rather than any ill-judgement on his part. "Had we been somewhat more fortunate I think we could have ran out comfortable winners but luck was on the side of our worthy opponents. It's easy for armchair fans to point the finger of blame inbetween munching on their pizzas, but I ask you, is this the logical to blame me or my players considering it is inevitable that we will lose sometime?".
Van Basten received scorn in the Legoland City press for referring to Ice Planet Invaders as "worthy opponents".
According to a leaked memo from LFC Offices, what appears inevitable is Van Basten's dismissal. The memo calls for a "complete review of the playing staff management team" after the upcoming match against Greentown Athletic on Saturday. "Should performances be below expectations, immediate action should be taken", it reads. Most football pundits believe that the LFC board are very disatisfied with Van Basten's month long stint to date, a 4 game period that has seen the club win 2 and draw 2 league games. "Despite having remained unbeaten in the Serie A under the present coach, Legoland United have leapfrogged them during his time in charge", explained RTL's Bosco adding that this is deemed "unacceptable" by many at the club.
Elsewhere there were cup wins for LFA Cup holders Lazio, Serie B leaders Third Division UASL, and Legoland United who defeated fellow Serie A club Napoli on penalties. In the other all-Serie A meeting Roma outfought struggling Celebs to win 1-0.
