Foreign special forces train Legañan counter-terrorist forces

The presence of rebel groups in the countryside has led to Legaña preparing itself for the possibility of a hostage rescue situation.

A special facility has been constructed to train counter-terrorist troops in room-clearing and evacuating any civilians safely and quickly.

News from the capital of Legaña, Santa Maria, has dried up in the last few months but recent reports say that the country’s military are preparing for a large counter-insurgency operation against political dissidents.

Journalists were alerted to the possibility of upcoming action by a presidential press report, which read, “To keep the citizens of the country safe, the military are up-scaling their training regime to prepare for counter-terrorist warfare. The rebels who plague the countryside will soon be taught a short, sharp lesson in the reality of their cause. To help with this, external aid has been sought and given from the one of the top agencies in dealing with these types of threats.”

This comes after a large advertising campaign to inform the public that the government was adopting a “No Negotiations” policy with rebel factions. “The elected government of this country will not deal with those who wish to disrupt our lawful reign!”, read one newspaper advertisement.

Despite the inevitable upcoming conflict with the rebels, minifig rights organisations have been pressing for details of the rebel prisoners held in the infamous state prisons amidst rumours of mistreatment and malnourishment. The presidential office, quick to respond to these requests, issued a statement 6 months later, saying, “Unfortunately, due to current commitments the government is not at liberty to disclose this information.”

This has only antagonised relations with these groups, and it is thought that they will turn to the international minifig community to solve the crisis. El Presidente must act quickly to avoid being the subject of an international investigation.
