Coming into the tournament the clear cut favorites were Forerunners who were looking to defend their title. After making it to the semifinals in the Lego Outer-European Cup (LOEC) and showing that they could compete well against international competition, many thought that this would be an easy warm-up for the upcoming Super 16 Conference competition. However, FC Elites were on top of their form as they took their LOEC experience and dominated the tournament as well as the favorite Forerunners.

The opening match of the tournament showcased a lone goal by Hellkickers as they got past United Ballers to meet up with the rival Forerunners in the semifinals. The rivalry match remained scoreless through regulation time where Forerunners escaped in penalty kicks 6-5. In the other semifinal matchup, FC Elites pounded Stars by a score of 3-1.

The championship match was a rematch of last year as the Forerunners were hoping to claim their second consecutive title. However, Forerunners could not match FC Elites intensity and were forced to claim the title of runners-up as FC Elites dominated by a final score of 3-0.

After the disappointing finish, Forerunners owner Mendicant Ark had this to say, “We did not play well at all. I think we were looking past this tournament and focusing too much on the Super 16 Conference. It’s no secret that we need to ground our studs for future reference.” On the contrary, FC Elites owner Xytan Sangheilius was joyous stating, “This is wonderful. Figs might now pay attention to how to speak and spell my name because of this.”

KFL Commissionerfig Jon Voi congratulated FC Elites on their well deserved title but admits that he still has trouble pronouncing Mr Sangheilius’ name. Following is the match recap of the tournament:
