After months of chasing what appeared to be a lost cause, the signature of ND Land's Cristiano Ronaldo, Legoland FC shocked everyone announcing the capture of the minifig at 11:10am this morning. The deal was finally struck after LFC tabled two different offers to the ND Land giants, both involving swapping players. The first bid was a reported £25m cash offer in addition to attacking duo Benoit Le Bris and Adrian Mutu. The second offer was a direct swap for recent free transfer capture Lionel Messi. ND Land chose the latter bid and the player flew into the Legoland capital on a private jet to put pen to paper on a £2.2m annual salary which he commented "was clearly not enough."

Ronaldo met the press briefly before being ussured away to a private hotel, believed to be the Imperial Arms Hotel in Cante. "Excuse me. I am the greatest player in the world and now I am at the greatest club, I am very happy to be here. I am also very pleased to be far away from those neanderthals in ND Land. I was not respected enough there." He did add, however, that he would be seeking "a significant pay rise before Saturday."

More details are emerging on the transfer and the Minifig Times understands that a key demand by ND Land was that they would have first preference should LFC put Ronaldo back on sale. LFC said after that they had "no intention of ever selling Cristiano". LFC also denied they offered Benoit Le Bris and Adrian Mutu. "We have full fate in Adrian's and Benoit's LFC career and deny wishing to sell him. However, if a decent offer comes in we may listen."

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi is reported to have said that he feels "used and abused" by LFC after being at the club for a second time but having never been given the opportunity to play in a single game. Messi, is also set to lose £1.8m having been forced into accepting a pay cut by ND Land.
