Clash with PBR Brewers "biggest in club's history"

news

Ajax Skerries' Timberus has said a loss to the Brewers on Monday would be "nothing short of a catastrophe".

The Helmets go into the game missing star defender Nemanja Vidić who is out injured.

LEGOLAND TOWN-Ajax Skerries owner Mr Creakyus Timberus has expressed his view that Monday's Super 16 Conference meeting with PBR champions PBR Brewers is the Helmet's biggest game in the clubs' 15 year history. "A win will propel us to the next level opening up untapped financial revenue streams. The new income should allow us compete with the big boys" he said.

Ajax go into Monday's second leg tie with the Brewers leading 1-0 from the first leg thanks to Corrado Grabbi's 91st minute strike but know such a slender lead could easily evaporate when visiting the strife ridden state of the PBR. "It will be tough, although we are favourites, the favourites tag is one I am never easy with. I trust Donadoni will pick a good team and secure at least a draw to send us through".

According to the Sports for Minifigs publication, a win or draw for Ajax on Monday night will earn the club £5m but give the Legoland Town club a possibility of earning up to £30m depending on their success in the competition, money that the club would use to bring in some new signings. Indeed the team has today been linked to a £7m swoop for Serie B top goalscorer Vitali Kutuzov who has scored 7 goals in 7 games for Bari and is attracting attention from a number of Serie A sides as a result. "If Ajax get money to strengthen the playing staff who knows what they could achieve in the coming seasons" said Sports for Minifigs journalist Ponderous Ruckus.

Other ties in the final preliminary round sees Legaña Leons visit Gardinian Elks hoping to turn around a 1-0 deficit, Newcastle visit Cashville requiring at least 2 goals to have any hope and Playmobil's Ludoplaymo visit Plasticland Empire's Super Wolves both sides having shared the spoils in the first leg.
