Legoban fighters fire upon government troops in the Basicstan Pass.
Although relatively lightly armed the insurgents are proving that their ease of mobility and knowledge of the Castleland region is a major advantage over the LRG.

FIGLAND-Fierce fighting has continued since early this morning in the mountainous Basicstan Pass region of Figland with the Ministry of Defence confirming the LRG's 30th casualty at 3pm this afternoon. Stating "stiffer than expected resistance" the Ministry rejected criticism that it had under estimated the strength of the Legoban. "The Legoban is a hidden enemy most of the time so it is impossible to know how many fighters they have," said Defence Minister Mr Chemicalus Answerus.
The Legoland media nevertheless have slammed Answerus accusing him of neglecting the service ‘figs whom he is supposed to protect. Criticism has also come from ex-military generals with the general consensus believing that the army are mishandling the fight against the insurgents. “Using tanks against such adversies and in such environments is nonsensical. The Legoban’s avoidance of battlefield showdowns and their widespread use of Rocket Propelled Grenade lanchers and landmines render tanks inappropriate to such conflicts,” said Professor of Military History at the University of Legoland, Dr. Enantiomorphous Genius.
Elsewhere, the government has agreed to send a mixture of 100 automatic and semi-automatic rifles to the Castleland regional administration after regional leader Colossus Denarius pleaded for military support. “We hope it is just the first batch but thank the central government for this valuable and essential contribution,” said the Castleland’s new State Defence Legion general, Mr Calamitous Fungus.
