Riot errupts in Legoland City centre after arrest of suspected crime boss

The trouble broke out in poorer areas of the capital and centred on Liberty Boulevard and the adjacent Slave Street.

In recent years such inner-city areas have suffered from high rates of unemployment and anti-social behaviour including crime and drug use. According to local MP Mr Exploitus Deprivus "investment in these areas is needed to prevent the emergence of ghettos".

The capture of a suspected key member of the Hole Heads Clan criminal syndicate has seen rioting break out in parts of the Legoland capital tonight as resident bums took to the streets in support of the arrested minifig, understood to be known locally as "One Eye".

The trouble started on Liberty Boulevard and Slave Street when gangs of youths started chanting anti-police slogans and attacked local businesses smashing in doors and windows with a barrage of stones, iron bars and beer bottles. According to the Empire Police, local members of the Hole Heads Clan effectively organised the riot through both intimidation and the promise of jobs in the Clan. Speaking to reporters at the Bombardier Police Station, Empire Police Chief Biggus Piggus confirmed that relative order had been restored in the troublesome hot-spots by 10.30pm and that 6 minifigs were now in custody. "These individuals will be placed before the courts tomorrow and will face the prospect of severe prison sentences" Chief Piggus said. He also had a warning for the ringleaders of the violence and organised crime in general. Full Story

BFB celebrate as patron clears club's debts

news Serie A side BFB have turned over a new page in their history after club owner Ms Claudia D'Impaciente took out her cheque book and cleared BFB's suffocating debt. Millionaire Ms D'Impaciente apparently decided that she had had enough of waiting for the day when her team would be debt free and in a moment of impatience, and with a stroke of a pen, she paid out £73.5m to the club's creditors. Dickus labels General Secretary an "idiot"

news Chief Collector General of the Empire's Customs, Mr Biggus Dickus, has hit out at plans by the central government to increase taxes on imports by up to 300%. Mr Dickus, who oversees the record keeping and import tax collection at the Customs, believes such as move will dramatically reduce imports thereby severely hitting economic activity in Legoland and resulting tax revenues. Council unveals proposals for capital redesign

news The Legoland City and County Council has unveiled a number of plans for the complete redesign and redevelopment of Legoland City. The proposals, the work of a number of private engineering contractors retained by the Council, have gone on exhibition at Brickhall House.
