The LFC team required significant protection from the Empire Police with the rowdy Juve crowd eager to brush up on their stone throwing skills.

Legoland FC have done the double over Juventus in this season’s Imperial Derby showdown after trouncing the Emperor’s club 6-1 today at the Olympic Stadium. With the Cartel’s veteran midfielder Jérôme Leroy in scintillating form, LFC grasped control of the tie right from the offset and had the Black & Whites well beaten by the 16th minute having gone 3-0 up with goals from Leroy, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole.
Leroy was to go on to net 3 more in the second half and notch up his 7th so far this season. After the game manager Patrice Loko praised the player labelling him the “unsung hero at the Partizan”. The win was LFC’s eight in a row and has seen them come back from the dead to be once more contenders for the 2009/10 title. Nevertheless, their disastrous string of results in October and November sees them remain 9 points adrift of table toppers Legoland United who do not look at all like surrendering such a lead.
At the San Siro the reigning champions bounced back from last Saturday’s shock defeat to the Pigs with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Inter. The win sees United move 7 points clear of Lazio after their 2-1 loss to Emperor Eagles. Lazio’s neighbours Roma are now neck and neck with their rivals after a 2-2 draw with Port Villa. Roma’s poor form of late has however seen the club fail to win any of the 5 games since Christmas.
At the bottom of the table, Greentown Athletic held title hopefuls Black Fortress Barbarians to a 2-2 draw at Athletic Ground. Under the guidance of owner Alan McManus, Greentown have been heavy spenders in the January transfer window and results appear to be improving with 3 ties and a win in their last four outings. The club remains 9 points from safety but will be pleased that none of the clubs in the 9 places above them managed to win this weekend.
In Serie B, Milan remain top after recording a 1-0 win over AKA. Millionaires and Galaxy leapfrog Verdy into 2nd and 3rd place respectively with wins over Legoland City and Genoa. Former 3-time Serie A champions, the Celebs, move into 7th after a 2-0 win over Robin Rangers. The Slobs are now 8 points off a promotion place.
